Tell us a little about yourself, your practice, your processes…
“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step” (Confucio, La Aventura Espiritual). This idea often goes through my mind as I grab my camera and go outside to live intensely through its lens.
For me, every day is unique and spontaneous; it is lacking a road map, order, or design.
My work depends solely on me, my desires, my momentary needs, my being in the present allowing my mind to be free from time and space to escape from the real world.
My work explores photographic relationships between reality and fantasy while creating an interactive experience for my audience and a bigger connection with my personal journey.
What are you working on at the moment? Has COVID-19 affected what you create?
In the beginning, COVID-19 was a challenge for me as it has been for many creatives. I found myself feeling down and lost, as I was unable to freely go outside and photograph.
I kept hearing ‘now is the time to reinvent yourself” so I have since taken the opportunity to connect with galleries and art spaces to continue my path as an artist in this part of the world continuing an extraordinary and artistic journey.
What or who inspires and drives you to create?
My dad. Without any doubt he is responsible for my passion for art.
When I was little many of our Sunday “adventures” were in galleries. He has taught me how to seek beauty around us and how to enjoy life through art. Nowadays, we share conversations about my photographs, his feedback and support is very important to me.
What’s the best piece of advice you have ever received?
I am a very spiritual person; I believe in energy and dreams.
“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step” (Confucio, La Aventura Espiritual) is one of my favourite quotes.
I think after the first step, we are automatically unstoppable…we can rock the world, achieve our dreams and set new goals.
