Colour Monotype Demonstration – All Welcome!
Join us at Geelong Art Space for an exciting demonstration of the expressive and spontaneous art of colour monotype. ‘Dance in Motion’ Pop-up exhibition features captivating artworks of Australian and New York dancers created using this very technique.
Debra will be in the gallery for the demonstration, surrounded by these vibrant artworks. Over approximately two hours, you’ll have the chance to see the magic of monotype printing unfold.
What to Expect:
– Live Creation: Watch as Debra rolls layers of coloured etching ink onto a copper or acrylic sheet, then uses brushes and cloth to shape the ink into beautiful, dynamic images of dancers.
– Unique Prints: Experience the moment the paper meets the inked plate, whether through a printing press or hand-printing, producing a one-of-a-kind artwork. You’ll also see the creation of a ‘ghost print’ – a second, lighter impression with its own unique charm.
– Come and Go: Feel free to wander in and out, whether you stay for a few moments or the full demonstration. There’s plenty of time to explore the exhibition and see the finished prints up close.
This demonstration is perfect for everyone – students, professional and hobby artists, novice creators, and art lovers of all kinds. A great opportunity to see art in action.
We look forward to seeing you there!
