Barbie and Ken are sneaking in a quiet romantic moment dancing in the lounge now that Barbie’s flat mate Midge has gone to bed. I have been exploring Barbie since mid Covid when I decided I needed a light hearted project for the rest of lock down. I have amassed about 15 Barbies since including puppets, an animation and a 3D hand embroidered version of her car “The Lovette”. This piece stitched on beautiful, buttery but most importantly groovy vintage fabric is truly petite being stitched at a smaller size than the Barbie doll herself.
