Artist Statement:
‘Ashes’ was inspired by a memory of Ash Wednesday in 1983. As a child living on property in Bells beach we evacuated our home. My father and I walked our horses through the heat and ash falling from our beloved bush and coastline that was ablaze to Torquay.
