Artist Statement:
I make the Fish Pod range of work because they represent the views in my childhood memory that bring me peace.
Keeping fishes and water plants in a big ceramic vessel and enjoying the view from the direct top, these are Chinese traditional aesthetic of keeping in harmony with nature. Some people also believe it brings good vibes.
The work is made with porcelain and reduction fired with studio glazes. Fishes are hand painted individually. Ripples are imprinted using stamps I made. The fluidity of the glazes is the magic key.
