Artist statement:
My work is essentially evocative and open-ended. However, there are ideas that weave their way through. Fluidity, in the sense of changeability, is a central idea. The dynamic processes of evaporation and condensation are explored by the assembling of fluid abstract shapes on paper. These drawings may evoke images of water in flight as vapour and clouds within the earth’s atmosphere. Invisible water vapour is likened to a more mysterious ethereal life force. A parallel is drawn between the change in water from liquid to gas and the transition of visible, physical form to unseen, subtle energy.
