Objects and Observations 3 by Robyn Stickland
Medium: textiles and found objects
Dimensions: 20 (H) x 65 (W) cm
As a fibre and textile artist, I use fabric and natural elements to document my daily life. I make marks on cloth with simple, exploratory stitching. Each step is considered – mindfully taking into account the provenance of the materials used, as well as inspiration from landscapes and collected objects from nature. The process of making and creation is spent in contemplation and deep reflection of my own life’s journey. The fabrics used in these pieces includes natural linen and hand-dyed and un-dyed cotton. The threads are cotton and silk. The objects from nature are collected on the coast.
