Artist Statement:
Inspiration for ‘Undercoat’ came from my latest practice using found takeaway coffee cups from our local general store. For this work I scratched into a cup exposing some of its green colour and to create the suggestion of a house, inking and wiping. It was then collaged using cut pieces of a pink cup. The image was then printed on inkjet rice paper combining with a monoprint on brown rice paper.
A memory of a small town and an old tumbling down house somewhere in the green fields of Tasmania.
