Shed, Quorn South Australia
Lately, I have an interest in using card and found materials to scratch and tear into using dry point type techniques. My travels to the Flinders Ranges in South Australia inspired this work and the many discarded coffee cups found along the way. Wiping ink into the scratched and torn lines created a wonderful texture much like the old falling down shed. It is the rawness of the plate (coffee cup) that I like so leaving it in this raw state with its texture and monochrome tones seemed necessary to reflect the wonderful old sheds.
