Still life: Double Vision (After Matisse) by Hannah Hall
Medium: Acrylic and coloured pencil on wood
Dimensions: 40.5 x 51cm
Inspired by the still life paintings by Henri Matisse, this work is an experiment with using the grid motif to layer two appropriated compositions in an new and unusual way. By layering two painting through the technique of masking the grid, results in an unusual experience for the eye, which diverts from colour to pattern and to colour again.
