Artist Statement:
I am an artist that is based on the Victorian Surf Coast. As an artist I am inspired by my surroundings including botanicals. I am influenced by the plants and succulents in my garden. Succulents have beautiful shapes with patterns and repetitions that can be abstracted. My process is to take photos, cropping them and then doing multiple drawings, before cutting out the lino and making prints on different paper. For this piece I chose Japanese paper which gives a contrast of softness of the paper with the starkness of the line work in the print.
