Artwork statement:
The third painting in a series of three. The whispering sands is, like the other two paintings, inspired by a trip to north Queensland. The painting is of Whitehaven Beach, in the Whitsundays. The Ngaro Indigenous Tribe of the Whitsunday Islands called Whitehaven Beach the ‘Whispering Sands’. An island seemingly untouched by human hands, set in sparkling turquoise blue sea, offset by vertiginous greens & grey cliff faces. I wanted to capture my feeling on seeing the raw beauty of this place. I hope more people see beautiful places like this, with a view to preserving them for future generations.
