A Retrospective Celebration of Australian and New York Dancers

This captivating retrospective featured the artistic journey of Debra Winn. Inspired by mesmerizing performances of Australian and New York dancers, this exceptional collection spans 2011 to 2023, showcasing a fusion of monotypes, oil paintings, and etchings.
The exhibition captured the essence of renowned ballet productions, including Stanton Welch’s Madame Butterfly, David McAllister’s The Sleeping Beauty, and Graeme Murphy’s The Silver Rose. Each piece is a testament to the artist’s profound connection with the world of dance, translating movement, light, and emotion onto canvas.
Highlighted in “Dance in Motion” are exquisite monotypes that showcase the fluidity and dynamism of ballet, as well as impactful oil paintings that encapsulates the depth of emotion experienced during these performances.
The exhibition was an immersive experience for art enthusiasts and ballet aficionados alike. Coinciding with this event, the Geelong Gallery will host “Cutting Through Time—Cressida Campbell, Margaret Preston, and the Japanese Print,” created a vibrant cultural atmosphere in the heart of Geelong.
