Artwork statement:
Clay work is a slow and steady practice, no rushing, the knitted and crocheted stitches come together slowly, casting on, knit 1, purl 1, ribs and garter, doubles, trebles, single stitches Piecing fabric together, pinning it into shape, threading the needle, weaving the needle and thread in and out, in and out, slow, steady, meditative. Turning the dried clay into wet pliable slip to soak into the shapes takes time Drying, waiting, bone dry best for the firing process Cooking clay pieces in a very slow kiln, so the fibre can turn into wisps of smoke and fade away. Leaving behind a trail of where it was, a shadow of slow stitches past.
